PRE - SCHOOL AGE SOCIALIZATION GROUPS for Parents & Children
The Solution Center, LLC now offers SOCIALIZATION GROUPS FOR PRE-SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN. Using the fundamental premises of play therapy and behavior modification, the group works to teach children how to socialize effectively with their peers. Manners, cooperative play, taking turns and sharing, are just a few of the skills we help children develop in a warm, friendly play environment.
The weekly group meetings provide growth when the therapist, parent and child work together to improve the child’s ability to express themselves effectively. We specialize in encouraging the very shy child, or the child who tends to utilize aggressive speech.
An essential component of the socialization group meeting is to allow the child to spend time with an adult who models positive social behavior behavior, the trained group facilitator. This also allows many opporunities for “parent coaching” on how to shape children’s social skills. Group meetings are also known for creating social networking and mutual support in a friendly environment for the parents!
The groups are intended for children whose parents or teachers feel there is a needs to improve the child’s ability to socialize. Group size is limited to 4 children, to allow the facilitator enough time to meet each child’s needs.
